I had to share the beehive pincushion I made for one of my dear swap partners.

It's made of felt, handsewn, and I weighed the bottom with rice.
Plus, I needlefelted the entryway

which was a great way to neatly add this small addition.

And I made little bee shrinky dink straight pins (there is even a queen bee)

Thanks for peeking at my beehive creation. Kiss

I found the pattern somewhere on the web, but it eludes me now.  If I find it, I will add a link.

I saw this in a book, Pretty Little Pincuchions, I think it was. I used the idea for shrinky-dink pins and made a bunch of "yin yang"s with them, though I have yet to make the cushion to match. This is nice. Your bees turned out lovely.

That's it...I remember seeing it in the book, though I don't actually own the book.  I did find a beehive template on the web somewhere because I remember printing it out.

Love; it will not betray you, dismay, or enslave you. It will set you free, to be more like the man you were made to be. There is a design, an alignment, a cry of my heart to see the beauty of love as it was made to be.

What a great idea for a pinchushion. I may have to steal that idea. I'd be too afraid of losing the cute bee pins to use them, though.

Re the pins, it never occurred to me that you could puncture the Shrinky Dink plastic with a pin. I don't know why, considering you can make a hole in it with a hole punch made for use on paper.
