Since I recently began making soap, I thought I should also make soap dishes.   Cheesy  I've made quite a few, these are the newest to come out of the kiln:

Doesn't it look like the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish? Wink  I think this is my favorite thus far.  Here's a close-up to see the scales:

And here are two made with stamps that I adore:

Glazed in teal, the pattern reminds me of old mexican pottery for some reason.

Glazed in greyish-black, my new favorite glaze.  Thanks for looking!

Oooo.  I like the last one.  Kinda looks like a turtle's back.

Nice work.

Those are very pretty!

I also love making soap dishes. They're really satisfying because you can build a finished piece in about 20 minutes!!

Something I found with mine, though is that soap doesn't seem to be compatible with glossy glaze. It slides around like crazy! My dish wasn't stamped like yours are so maybe the stamp will give the soap a bit of tooth.

Matte glaze seems to be fine although then the soap sticks to the dish! Is there a happy medium? Maybe....:-)

Thanks Hippie9!  I have found if you slump them ever so slightly, the soap doesn't slide around.  And the texture definitely helps.  Cheesy
