I found this great placemat at Dollar Tree that I knew just HAD to be a clutch. Perfect since I needed a new purse for a friend's big Honors' Society induction today. But I hate using heavy duty interfacing. And so does my machine. What to use? A mesh placemat, of course! I have no idea why they make them since they're not nonslip. But whatever. It was just the perfect stiffness for me. So I dug in buttons and my stash, found the perfect stuff, and whipped this up in about 15 minutes. AND I made a real button hole. That functions well and isn't too stiff! That, fellow crafters, is a major feat for me. Button holes are evil contraptions! D:

The inside which was supposed to be the front but I wasn't paying attention when I sewed the lining in. Can't have the sewn up hole for flipping showing on the outside, can we?  Roll Eyes:

I'm satisfied with it. And I'll try to add action pics later. Now to find an outfit to wear with it.  Undecided

very pretty. I never would have guessed that it was a placemat.

Thanks! Since I made it it's gone out twice. Both times my friends demanded their very own placemat clutches. I expect an influx of placemats soon. *dies*
