Secret Santa 2009 Swap Party (sign ups CLOSED; mail by 11/23/09)

We love dipping everything in chocolate, pretzels, nuts, fruits, and marshmallows.  We even bought one of those chocolate fountains for dipping.

My favorite for Christmas baking is still Christmas cutout cookies.  I love using every cookie cutter in the house.  And the recipe that I use is a soft batch cookie recipe.  They come out a little crispy around the edges and soft in the middle.

Ohh, I love Christmas bark! I'm definitely going to make some of that..

One thing I like to do at Christmas is fill up my moms stocking with all kinds of stuff, she always ends up having the best stocking..
I love decorating the house inside and out, getting a tree, seeing fresh snow outside and houses decorated with lights.. There's this one huge house where I live that goes all out decorating for every holiday, even "small" ones. People drive by their house in like a mile long line going real slow so they can get a look at everything, there's so much to see there, its like a little wonderland.

My favorite part about Christmas has got to be the stocking. Mine doesn't really get filled up so great anymore but I still love it from when i was a kid. I would wake up and the first thing I'd do is run into the living room and get my stocking because we were allowed to go through it before everyone woke up. I LOVE waking up on Christmas morning and walking into the living room that's all dark and seeing the tree all lit up and the stockings hung on the fireplace, it just feels so magical.

Just a heads-up:  I'm not going to be very active at all on craftster for the next few days.  I've got my plate full with getting ready for my son's birthday, trying to get him well enough for his birthday party as bad bronchitis has set in in the wake of his being very sick a little while back, major gutting cleaning of the house, and fixing a problem with the ceiling that the days of rain triggered (new roof on house, but ceiling tiles were weakened by old leak -- last batch of storms and days of high humidity were more than they could take). 

I'll try to get on at least once a day quickly to check PM's, but I doubt I'll be posting much.

Aikibookworm, I hope your party goes well, and that your son recovers very soon.

And I understand about the ceiling.  We were lucky that we didn't lose anything, but I came in one day and found a ten foot puddle in the middle of my living room floor.  Luckily, it was in an area where there was no furniture.  And new roof gives me a little more confidence about protection from the elements.
