I wasn't quite sure where to put this - it didn't really fit under 'stencilling' or 'iron on inkjet transfers'.

Sooo ... It all started when I picked up some Sulky transfer pens.  I wanted to try them, so I went to all these stores looking for a cheap t shirt that had 35% polyester.  Eventually I discovered an old tee from Michaels that was 50/50 so I decided to have my fun.  I printed out the Shins stencil, colored it in, and ironed it on, only to discover that I had forgotten to put a layer of fabric in between the t shirt.  Cry So I kinda ruined that shirt, but I  had another one, so I tried again.  This time it didn't transfer darkly enough. I had just re-colored the same transfer cause it says on the package that it's possible, but it totally didn't work.  So I used a Sharpie.  Hooray for Sharpies! I even remembered to put cardboard in between.  Grin

Then I remembered this spray bottle of fabric paint I'd bought a year ago and never used.  I figured it deserved better than sitting unopened in my drawer, so I made the background.

Whew!  All that work was worth it for the Shins, though. Long live the Shins.  Grin

Thanks guys!  I haven't actually washed it yet (laaaazy!!) (don't worry, I only wore it once or twice. I'm clean  Wink )  but I'll do the laundry in the next few days and let you know.

excuse my ignorance...  Embarrassed

But what are "the Shins?"

i can only think of Mrs. Shin from the Music Man.... "I have a bunyan there that bothers me..."

Darn high school plays.  hee hee

I think you did a fantastic job on the shirt, though ^_^
