Eternal WIP Sampler

I am working on an embroidery sampler.  It's going to be an eternal work in progress.  I was inspired by SharonB's sampler on pintangle.  I plan for my sampler to be 5.5 inches wide and however long it ends up.

So far, I've only worked this little redwork section, but I'm really liking it.  In this section, I am working only angular stitches, with no knots or round shapes at all.  With the exception of back stitch and straight stitch (which I'm using to define sections and emphasize the band shape, and also to rest my brain), I have tried to avoid repeating stitches, although I made one accidental repetition.  Here's a list of all the stitches I've used so far, by row:

4: detached straight stitches, arranged like flower stems.

Very cool! This is a great idea. I tend to forget how many stitches there are and which ones I know how to do!

That's really neat, love the way it looks and what a great way to be able to see stitches you can do. I would proudly hang this on a wall in my home.

Thanks!  It's been really, really fun to work on.  Once I finish the angled stitches, I'm going to start on stars and knots, then loops and curves.  It's really a nice way to break me out of my groove.

Wow that is so cool!
If I were to try a sampler of all the stitches I can do, it would be 4 whole lines long
Will you be doing it entirely in the redwork, or will you separate the curve & knot sections by color?

I had planned to do them all in red, but your idea is really interesting!  I'm really liking the red though -- now I'm conflicted!
