What a fun idea! I always admire books of stitches at the bookstore or library, but never seem to have a place to use them. That would be a great 'resource' library to hang in my craft room, as well as a fun way to try out a whole bunch of new stitches. Hmmm... I have a skinny strip of wall in my craft room between two doors....  I am thinking I may have a new project on my hands! Will look forward to seeing yours as it develops.

Orson Scott Card wrote about a weaver in his Seventh Son series that wove a never-ending bolt of cloth. The position of the threads told people's stories and noted major events in history. This whole idea really reminded me of that. How awesome would it be to just keep going and going and going? It's a major undertaking, but it's the kind of thing people will cherish for many years to come. Very, very cool.

Thanks.  That is a cool idea LovieDovieAnn.  It's a really fun way to practice all the stitches.

That piece is short -- about 10x10 inches.  I've actually finished that piece (I'll post a pic as soon as I'm home during daylight to take one!).  I've started another piece that's about 20x10 inches.  I need to figure out how to piece them together.

I haven't done a sampler in ages.

I like the red work. If you add in color it may detract from the intricacy of some of the other stitches. Smiley
