Wonderful idea and beautiful execution. I have a friend who needs one of these right now.

this is similar to a project I did in third grade (a gillion years ago) I made a scale out of 2 pieces of wood with 4 springs sandwiched in between. I colored it with crayons or something (not NEARLY as cool as mosaic!) and the display read "perfect" -mind you I was 8, so we all know my issues go way back!- I'm so happy I saw this today, it looks wonderful.
That is a great story! Unfortunately I think most girls have issue with their weight, from very young ages. It is one of the saddest things about our societies obsession with "appearance".

Thank you all for the wonderful comments! Smiley

This is perfect! I showed DH & he looked confused & asked me, "How did she get the scale to say perfect?"
Sweet.

This is a neat project. I echo the comments about appearance and weight. I love both the scales. I love the fact your friend wanted one for her daughter. Hopefully it will be visible reminder that she is beautiful.

The "PERFECT" is printed out on a digital font, glued to the sybstrate, and then a clear glass piece glued on top.
