Marauder's Map messenger bag

Well, it might be obvious that I like the Marauder's Map.

This bag however I made for the Harry Potter Swap 6 for jigarkhwar.

The bag is lined with a quilting fabric I got on sale, because the craftingshop was stopping with quilting materials.
and the outer side of it is handdyed with coffee, tea and fabricpaint. Then the Map was drawn on with fabricmarkers.

And on the sides there were little footprints drawn on. But I forgot to take photo's of that.

Wow!!  Let me get this right.  You started with a plain fabric and did all of the decorating including the fine lettering.  If so, it's astounding and quite an achievement.  It must have taken forever.

And yes, I started out with a plain cotton blend or something like that. First I dyed it in a coffee and tea blend and splattered it with darker coffee and fabricpaint to give it a old look. And then made a bag out of it with a different lining. Then I drew on the design of the map with a fabricmarker. The fabricmarker didn't survive it's ordeal though
