I got this old writing cabinet for $25 & thought it would make a sweet craft space for the loungeroom - it is my first attempt at a "proper" refinish - ie, sanding & varnishing & what not.... and I am SO HAPPY with how it turned out!





The desktop is decopaged with old magazine pages from the 50s - I was considering painting it but that green surface wouldn't have a bar of it... Wink

Indeed I did do both - I painted the inside shelves red & stain & varnished the outside.

k3lly - It is a matter of luck isn't it, however, I wasn't actually looking for anything at all when I found it, just saw it & immediately thought of what I could do with it. Smiley (fingers crossed for a good find soon!)
