How Lovely
« on: September 19, 2009 02:33:24 AM »

I'm still pretty new to polymer clay, working it out slooowly Smiley These are my octopus pendants.

My first one hangs on a blue leather cord:

I'm not sure if it's clear in the photos but his tentacles are a mix of blue and green:

He's flat backed but the tentacles stand up quite a bit.

The second octopus is a blue clay mixed with black with little yellow suckers, I saw a similar pendant a couple of years ago but I can't remember the site! If you know it please let me know so I can give credit, as I remember it was a cool pendant!

At the time I was thinking about making a blue ring octopus, a tiny creature that lives here in Australia in rockpools, highly toxic! I think you have about 3 minutes to live after a bight! Unfortunately I didn't have enough yellow so I had to invert the colours, maybe next time:

And a flat view to see the tentacles: I intend to hang him on a darker blue leather one day Smiley

C&C very welcome.

Cheers!

I like it! The octi came out very nice and I love the yellow suckers on the tenacles. That makes it pop in the pics.  Wink
