My house was built in the late 1800's and the original pantry was taken up with the air return vent and unit when central air was installed.  What I was left with was a wall that was about 15 inches from a doorway.  That's not enough room for much but I decided to make myself a little open pantry.  I wanted it to look like it had always been there so I added moulding that matches the rest of the house.  No before pics but here are some of the process and finished pantry.

It looks great! And I love the colors!

The only think I worry about is that the shelves are sagging and it's brand new! Maybe you should add a brace behind them. Just a 1" x 2" across the bottom back of each shelf?

I was worried about that too. Good thought. I'll add braces this weekend.
