I am not the best sewer and seeing that my sewing machine is storage I am forced to hand sew.  I would love to try my hand at recons but I am scared I may not live up to someone expectations.  I have to think about this one a bit longer.

3rding on the organizing part- it is super hard work anyway, I've organized a few, I also required weekly check ins. It's much easier to keep track of everyone that way- and if you noticed someone has missed a check in or two, you can contact them straight away to check how they are doing, and if they do turn out to flake, you usually have had warning and can find another partner for their partner before they send. So yes, it's actually quite a good idea. And check in messages needn't be long or tiresome, you can just update with "Hey I'm still here, working on a medium now", or something. Some people even just put "checking in", which just lets the organizer know they are still around and not neglecting the swap.

I will second donniesgirl on the organizing headaches as I am doing my first one. One swap I had and my organizer went over and beyond trying to track down my missing partner. Then it happened again in another.  I love my current partner in the music swap, and she isn't chatty, but we'll see. I just need someone on this swap who will communicate with me.

I am going to send in my questionaire as soon as I finish my advent swap. It's a doozy, but lots of fun. I am trying to keep myself from getting too much at a time.
I like how a patchwork skirt sounds.... That will definitely be on my list.  Those never come in my size.
