Details of swap: This swap is for all the Plus Sized girls out there (from ten pounds overweight to 200 lbs), who would like some really great crafted items. Sometimes, it is hard finding fashionable or flattering things in a Plus Size. Admired some crafts on Craftster, but couldn’t make it or didn’t have the time? Or just afraid to ask for clothes in a swap because you feel guilty that yours will require more fabric/yarn? This is the swap for you! Everyone deserves to look fabulous, no matter what size they are!
Every person will make things related to BBW. This can include stylish items in a Plus Size, things with inspirational or funny quotes, BBW necessities, or anything you can think of that relates to us big and beautiful gals. This is a 6 point swap, but each swapper must have at least one medium
and one large
wearable item (sewn/recon, knit/crochet, jewelry, stenciled/silk screened, etc). All 6 points should be crafted. Since such a big part of being a Plus Size is finding clothes that fit or are flattering, wearable should be an important part of your package.
THIS SWAP IS ABOUT LOVING YOUR FABULOUS SELF & EMBRACING YOUR BODY.
I gave us a pretty long signup period and a long crafting time on purpose, this is not so we can procrastinate but to give a lot of time for thought and care in our crafting.
Points Guidance:Small Item = 1 point
Med Item = 2 Points
Large Item = 3 Points
For new swappers there might be a bit of a confusion as to what is a large, medium, and small item, so here's a handy guide:
Small = By time, 2 or less hours of crafting. By $$$, $10 or less. By size, Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks…
Medium = By time, 2 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $10-$30. By size, one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf…
Large = By time, 3 or more hours of crafting. By $$$, $30 or more. By size, A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse…
This is not totally set in stone, but is a rough estimate of sizes described by time it takes to make package, by physical size and by cost.
The Rules~Because this swap is on the larger side & involves wearables and a higher crafty skill set, I am requiring each participant to have completed at least one swap prior to signing up for this one.
~All participants must check in at least once a week, by pm or by posting in this thread, and tell their progress. If you are going to go on vacation & be out of reach for a week or two, please let your partner & the organizer know. If you don’t, you will get a comment in your feedback.
~If your partner is within the US, you MUST get a DC and pm it to the organizer and your partner.
~Be aware of the comments section on wists (if you check them), someone might add something and you go to make it, but didn’t notice in their comments that they would only want that item in a different color.
Important note: Feedback will ONLY be given after you & your partner send, receive, and post pictures of what you received. If you do not have a camera, please make arrangements with your partner so they can take pictures before they send. If you don’t post pictures, you will get a comment in your feedback. We all want to see what you got, and senders all want to know that what they made & sent was appreciated.
