Woot!! Got my awesome batts and cool sampler from Faren. Was totally excited by the samples she sent me too as I was wondering about some of them and even though I am a regular at Maryland Sheep and Wool (east coast fiber mecca other than Rheinbeck) ihad never really run into most of the others. So here they are, I opened up the batts some so you sould see the layers

I'm glad you like them Thenutmeg2000!  Here are some pictures before I rolled them up.

The grey is llama.

The chestnut color is alpaca.

Those are pretty.

I have been busy predrafting my fibers, both from my swap and ones I bought. The apaca bamboo I bought with the one I sent to callmeflower9 seems to smell to have a faint urine odor. I hope yours doesn't. I have that pretty silk hanky all prepped into pencil roving. I do have a couple blisters from all the pulling, but it is ready to spin. It is so soft. I think I will use it to ply something.

I think I am going to spin up the pink to make yoga socks for my daughter.

I received from superhooker.

4oz Mountain Colors dyed Targhee
2oz black Michigan Shetland
some linen
2 dyed mohair yarns.

Thanks.  The fiber goodies are lovely.  They are superhooker's favorite things.  Smiley

I didn't notice any smell when I was spinning. I spun up almost all my swap fiber already, I only got 55 yds out of the sparkly red, but I plyed two batts together. I think I got around 80 for the alpaca bamboo which I navajo plyed, it felt weird, I've never used alpaca that felt like that, Suri I am guessing, it looked and felt just like hair. I spun up the little purple roving with the dyed locks, around 30 yds single. I still have my angora to spin up! I love everything! Now what to do with the finished yarn?

I was thinking about that last night. I have so many small balls of yarn. I started matching some of them up in groups by color. I have been busy knitting lately, but I did spin up the silk and the pencil roving, everything else is drafted.
