This is a tote I made for my Goddaughter using Sublime Stitching patterns. It was one of my first projects!

Her tail is definitely my favorite part.

The tail detail is super sweet.  And I really like how you satin stitched the hair- it really adds to the effect of her hair floating.

I love the stitching you did on the tail.  The mermaid is very pretty.

I agree, the choice of stitching (and the work!) is superb!  Do you find it harder or easier to embroider on canvas?  I just picked up some totes and have only worked on t-shirts or soft fabric before and don't know what I'm getting into.  Smiley

I like working on canvas. It's a little thick at first, but after working on it for a little while it gets just supple enough (make sure you start with a new, sharp needle!). I find it just durable enough to not over-tighten in my hoop, so my stitches tend to not be too loose or too tight when I take it out of the hoop. However, it does take some time with the iron and steam to get the imprint from the hoop out!
