Hiya --

I am making this now...

On Rnd 4 & 5, do I work the stitches in each chain from the previous, or do I work them one chain to the next?

I suck at following crochet patterns.

AKA: Work all the stitches in a single previous stitch then repeat on the next OR  work sc1 in one, then chain, then sc1 in next stitch then slip stitch the next 3 stitches from the previous round..

I love it, stars are amazing! I really wish I could crochet, I keep bookmarking tutes for crochet stuff in the hope that one day I will learn and be able to make the stuff!

you don't know how to crochet at all? I would suggest NextStitch or YouTube

for this hat you would need to look up:

how to make a ring
how to crochet in the ring
how to slip stitch
how to single crochet
how to double crochet
how to half double crochet
how to triple crochet
how to front post double crochet
how to back post double crochet

I don't think I forgot anything. That should help you get started Cheesy
