Wig for an infant

any ideas how to easily make a wig (going for george washington/colonial) for a 6 month old?  it's more or less just for a picture (poor kid, we're going to torture him) so it's not going to be on for very long.

i have an idea of how to do the hair just not sure what to attach it to so that it will fit on his head.

I would just sew it to one of those little cotton caps that you probably got tons of at your shower.  You're never going to use all of them anyway, right?

well im not sure what you are making the hair out of (or if you are using hair) but i have had to make a few wigs mostly when i was in cosmetology school. a really easy way to do it is fit a hairnet to his head and sew the "tracks" of hair by the weft to the hairnet. it is really easy you just use an overhand sitch and knot it as you go. if you dont have a maniqun to hold the cap while you sew the hair on just use anything. a doll would work.

Last year my daughter was Col. Sanders, and I made the wig out of fluffy white yarn.  I knitted a basic skull cap that tied under her chin, then tied big loops all over it.  It stayed on and held together for about 2 hours, which is great for something on a toddler's head!  Here's a pic:
