I've never had it officially serviced but I've cleaned it and oiled it.  RyverChyld recommended that I replace the needle so I'm going to try that.

I feel for you! Last round of this swap I had a HUGE issue with my machine. Tension issue with a solution I'm not sure I fully followed. But I am so glad it's all better now. Hopefully yours is an easy fix.

Oh so sorry to hear about your machine, Magadoo. It is always so frustrating when they don't work and especially when you don't know why. Mine loves to act up when I'm in the midst of a major creativity.

I do have a question for all. I've done minimal quilting before, but never wall art which is what my partner would like. Do you put a low loft batting in it? To give it a little bit of oomph? 

I'm so glad my partner likes applique, cuz that I can do and not feel ashamed of.

I tend to use cotton batting even in art quilts, though I'm sure everyone has their own preferences in what to use, definitely want to use something with body to to it (though not comforter like) so that it hangs nicely on the wall.

I'm using Warm & Natural brand needled cotton. It seems to be working pretty well, although I wish it were just a bit thicker. I thought about using two layers, but didn't. I used heat and bond lite to add a bit of body. I think it will hang nicely, but I'm not sure it will have that little bit of poof that comes with quilting.

I'm ready to begin the quilting. It's coming together much faster than I thought it would. I hope I'm doing it right

I have a piece of bamboo/cotton batting left over from a project. If it is the right size it will be going into this, it's so yummy feeling!

I totally love the bamboo/cotton blend and the silk/cotton blend they are fabulous battings

The memory quilt is a lovely idea, it looks nice, i'm sure it will be a ppreciated.

My husband deployed this morning for training GAH we have been blessed ( choose your rate choose your fait so they say) and he has not gone anywhere for ever. GAH what will I do w/o him nagging..Im hungry, whats for dinner, I need my uniforms done, I'm hungry LOL, I am sleepy, I cant go to sleep are you coming to sleep..blah blah blah...OMG GIRLS I only have to worry about feeding the dogs right now oh and me...I can stay up until 4 AM if I was sewing and crafting..OMG Yeppie for me...ROTFL

Gosh I have 2 completely different ideas and 2 completely different sketches for this mini quilt!   
I can not decide which one to do!!  It is driving me crazy!  I keep going back and forth between them! 
I should just pick one already!!  I am not usually this indecisive!   I just really want to get this quilt perfect for my partner!!
