The Patriot Guard means so much to us military people!  Thank you babalina! Wink
I am sure they will love the memory quilt, those quilts have so much sentimental meaning, they are really powerful expressions of love, especially at a time when words seem to fail.  Images are so much stronger than mere words! Wink

I have a 3 day weekend, so I am gonna finish up my other 2 swaps, so that I can start focusing on this one! Wink

I am wokring on a memory quilt for my friend who's nephew was killed ( one of the 8 ) in Afganistan this past weekend. I need to get that done so she can give it to his momma at the funeral. I am honored to make it and to be a life member of Patriot Guard and we are honored to stand for him. I will get started when this is done. It is beatiful so far.

I did this recently for my uncle who passed away.  I only had 2 days to do it so it was really simple but it was a good way for me to grieve.

It is simple but strong in love I think. I just got back a bit ago and overnighted it to make sure they have it for his funeral/memorial service..My heart is so very heavy  Cry

beautiful quilt and full of sentiment, I'm sure the family will appreciate it, babalina.

I went to Joann's last night and got the last of my supplies. I'm getting ready to start on the appliques. I'm a bit worn out - I went through at least half of my storage unit earlier today and purged, donated and recycled some things in preparation for my move. I even donated some fabric (GASP!). Don't worry, I have plenty left. It was hard to get rid of three things - fabric, yarn and books. That pretty much sums up what I spend my freed time on!

So I should have a few good hours left, I hope, to work on my quilt tonight before I get cross-eyed and goofy. And if that plan falls through, I have a brainless (but good) chick flick I can watch as plan B.  Grin

I'm so MAD right now!  Angry  My sewing machine doesn't work anymore!  I don't know if anyone else has a Brother, but my upper thread isn't catching the bobbin thread so it's not doing any sewing!  Undecided  I guess this is a good time to get a new machine.
