I've been on a super hiatus from the craft world since we have started looking to buy a house/bought a house. But FINALLY, I get to share what has been accomplished since we have bought our first home.

We bought the house in mid August and have been going to town on every inch of it. It is a 1931 cottage style 1.5 story house that we fell in love with on the VERY first round of showings.

We have mostly completed the house in just one month, but the kitchen was the first to be finished to completion. So, please take a look. I'd love to hear comments or anything you may want to add.

Thanks!

Wow! This looks awesome! I have been wanting to paint our weird wooden cabinets forever but the husband says "NO" maybe your pics will sway him. Good job!

This is JUST my style!!!!!!! It is incredible!!

I was mesmerized by the first picture, imagining how i can redo my very similar kitchen.

i love how uncluttered it is! there is just enough knickknacks...
and then when i saw the before...... i literally said out loud ( at work  Wink) OH MY F*****G...... are you kidding me???!!!! hee hee... my coworkers were shocked.

i only rent so painting the cabinets is a big no, but i have been toying with the idea of removing the doors.... but question: where do you put your food? pantry stuff? like flour, beans, soups, cans, etc.....? do you have a seperate pantry??

sorry for the questions, its just your kitchen is my dream kitchen!!!!

I love your kitchen.  It's just perfect .  But you must give details as to what you did and how you did them. LOL.

Great job.

What a great redo! You have great vision for potential...I would never have thought that kitchen could be transformed into such a bright and airy space. This truly belongs on a renovation tv show or a magazine! It looks like a fun place to hang out and make strawberry shortcake or something. I hope you post pics from the rest of the house too.

Thanks Guys!

-MEshelltakeone: I do have a small pantry that I have snacks in and canned foods, but as far as baking supplies go, I have mulitple canisters that I have items in. On the wall with the refrigerator, there is a storage cubby with fabric bins - in there I have my tupperware, measuring cups, oven mitts, etc. This cleared up space for me to store my pots and pans in the bottom cabinet area.

-Soledad:  I was a little apprehensive about painting the cabinets, just because it seemed like a lot of work. But it took two weekends, took door down and sanded them/painted them and the bottom cabinets. The second weekend we did the white paint and the wallpaper. Really, the only materials we bought were 2 gallons of paint, paint brushes, wallpaper (vintage- from ebay:making it a little cheaper), handles, and spice jars (dollar store- haha!)  About $100.00 - $120.00 in total on supplies.

I don't like spending a lot of money on things and I feel as though you can always get a really great result and sense of accomplishment if you take the time to look around and see what you CAN use, or if you maybe go with a cheaper version of something you really like. Obviously we could not afford new cabinets, but $40 dollars of paint really helped make the kitchen feel bigger and CLEANER!  Cheesy

Thanks so much for the lovely comments!
