ok, so I saw a couple of these posted here and I just had to try it for myself!
"Props" to the crafsters' who did it first!  Grin

Here is my version of the recycled magazine vase/basket. I'm not totally sure what I will use it for. Originally I was thinking of using it as a umbrella/cane holder, but I really like how it came out and I don't want it to get trashed, so I think I am going to use it as either a plant basket or a vase...not sure yet.  Tongue

I used about 2 and a half issues of Cookling light magazines (about 120 pages each). I rolled them up and then closed them with tape and then hot-glued them together. I used a coffee container lid for the base and then when I was done I gave it a coat of varnish to help protect it.

and YES, I do have WAY to much time on my hands! LOL! I lost my job and I'm trying to keep busy so I don't completely loose my mind...

onto the next project....what next? Hmmmm......

Brilliant and beautiful! Not sure I'd use it for plants, though. I'd be afraid it would get wet.

Thank everybody! :-) It took about a week to make. the longest time was rolling all the pieces up. I had rolled a magazine's  worth and glued it, but wanted it taller so I just kept on rollin'
Glad you liked it!  Grin

Love the project and I like the shape you used for the vase.  Do you think it would work well on a smaller scale as well? maybe like a pen or pencil holder?

THANKS! Its funny you say that...I was thinking of making a whole "desk set" with a pencil holder and a square shape for note pats/posits...  Grin
