Hey all. Smiley Ever since I saw this photo of the French president's wife a few months ago, I have been dying to make a similar dress. So, last weekend, I threw one together out of a wonderful wool suiting I found:

Here it is on me:

(The belt isn't attached, I just added it because I like it.)

What do you guys think?

Lovely, it totally flatters your figure! The belt is a nice touch, you can totally make it in any color to match your tastes or whatever. Nice!

Never underestimate the power of suggestion.

I am interested in personal swaps for fabric and quilting squares. PM me if you're interested!

I didn't for this one, just made my own, but I noticed that a couple of the major pattern companies have patterns this fall that are this exact style (talk about coincidental timing, huh?). For example, Vogue's V8593 and Butterick's B5382 are both very similar.

This is really cute. I have a few ideas that are a bit like this, the shift dress is so in style this season! The gray is right on as well, because the whole looks is to be a bit structured and spacy. It also looks great with those booties that are out. I love astronaut couture! This dress would look amazing with an over the top origami coat for winter...
