Okay, here's the tracklisting and hopefully the picture for the cd that emmabobemma sent me! (i say hopefully b/c i've never posted a picture before, so here it goes!) ALSO: Yes, Kate(iris), that cd was from me. Oops!  Grin

Track listing:
1. new situation, the stereotypes
2.what is hip, tower of power
3.there she goes again, velvet underground
4.rebel, rebel, david bowie
5.rebellion, (lies), the arcade fire
6.rebellion, (lies), the arcade fire
7. unsure, the stereotypes

Oh! and...unbeknownst to her, three, count 'em, THREE of my truly favourite things were incorporated into the decoration/design! Kelly green, hot pink, and hearts! Awesome-ness!!

About the nerves- there's an anthology out on cd... came out a couple of years ago though I am not sure what label it was on.  I could find out if anybody was super-curious (I work at a record store).  I heard them first on a rhino compilation called "power pop hits" or something like that- they are very cool.

I do not have access to a digital camera just now, so I will have to post a pic later but I got my swap from elleshellmo last week!  She sent me three cd's in a fabric/paper envelope/pouch with sequins! I am a sucker for sequins. I mentioned I was interested in learning about classical, so I'm going to list the classical compilation she so thoughfully made for me!

1. Lohengrin Overture- Wagner
2. Lacrimosa- Mozart
3. Their Sound is Gone Out to All Lands- Handel
4. Traumerei- Schumann
5. Verbum Caro Factum Es- Benedictine Monks
6. Barcarolle- Offenbach
7. Lakme Flower Duets- Delibes
8. En l'ombre d'un bissonet- Josquin des Pres
9. Queen of the Night Aria- Mozart
10. Largo from Xerxes- Handel
11. X-Files theme a la Hovhaness- Hollywood Chamber Orchestra
12. Adante from Piano Concerto- Beethoven
13. Force of Destiny Overture- Verdi
14. O Esca Viatorum- J.S. Bach
15. Ave Maria- Andrea Bocelli
16. Dies Irae- Mozart
17. Big Love Addagio- Bond
18. Explosive- Bond

Also, I have a TON of Cramp's stuff- I'd be happy to make a cd of just cramps stuff for you if you think you're lacking in crampitude.  Lux spit a wine cork at my husband at a show a few years ago- we still have it.  I kind of "specialize" in old-old school punk and love to trade.

I also received a CD from emmabobemma yesterday!  Paste magazine (if you have the means I highly recommend picking one up) had a write up on the stereotypes in this month's issue and I was really curious about them...so I was really excited that you put three of their songs on your mix! I'm also a big fan of the Velvet Underground and David Bowie...so any mix with them has to be good...and the kinks...and talking heads...I'm very excited to give it a listen.  Thanks Emma!

That track list sounds awesome, any chance of me getting a post swap swap of that one?

A few days ago I received awesome CDs from darkhairedgirl and from...uhh... I'm not sure who... I LOVE the covers of both of them!

I'm impressed with people who made DIFFERENT CDs for different people!  Here is the CD I got from darkhairedgirl:

I'm really intrigued by all the remix stuff.  I'm not super-familiar with this genre of music, but I heard that "Grey Album" that made the rounds on the Internet last year and I find it very fascinating.  Can't wait to dig in!

Track list:
Starry Eyed Surprise -- Paul Oakenfold
Guilt is a Useless Emotion -- New Order
Love Will Freak Us Apart - Disco -- Missy Elliot vs Joy Division (I can't wait to hear this!)
Tubular Bells -- Book of Love
Frank Sinatra -- Miss Kitten
Slut (Remix) -- Avenue D
I Beg Your Pardon -- Suicide Machines
Dogma -- KMFDM
Rapture on the Storm -- Blondie vs The Doors
What Would You Do? -- Paris
Sandwiches -- Detroit Grand Pubahs
i-Generation -- MC Cars
Discoball World -- David Garza
In Da Club (Electro Mix) -- 50 Cent
Head Star -- Depeche Mode
Marta's Song -- Deep Forrest
Bigmouth Strokes Again -- Smiths vs Strokes
Sunday Bloody Sunday -- RX

And here is the mystery CD (I'm sorry, I brought it to work with me, and if it said on the envelope, I can't remember -- please take credit!)

Track list:
Van Lear Rose -- Loretta Lynn
Beach Boys -- Don't Worry Baby
Social Distortion -- Nickels and Dimes
Marie Marie -- Blasters
Tears of a Clown -- English Beat
I Wanna See You Bellydance -- Red Elvises
Here Comes the Summer -- Undertones
Modern Kicks -- Exploding Hearts
The World's a Mess, It's In My Kiss -- X
Send Me an Angel -- Thrice
Just Can't Get Enough -- Depeche Mode
Every Dog Has Its Day -- Flogging Molly
Photograph -- Weezer
Fujiyama Mama -- Wanda Jackson
Bomb the Twist -- 5678's
Blue Suede Shoes -- Carl Perkins
King Cry Baby -- James Intveld
Baby Lou Tattoo -- Horrorpops
Sick of Psychos -- Frisk

THANKS!!  I'm planning to give them both a listen right now!  I'm hoping it will help me get through my mind-numbingly boring day at work  Wink
