So I already purchased the stamp to make my sons party invites, but then I thought "Hey, why not try and make them in photoshop?". Now I can't decide if I like either of the ones I made and for that matter how they'll print out. Any suggestions would be awsomness!

I really like the color scheme of the first one, but I think the second is easier to understand. Maybe change the dark blue of the background on the second one to something brighter and i think you have a WONDERFUL invitation!

Either way, i really dig the design

I like the 2nd one because it reads better. I wouldn't use that funky font though. Hard to read. maybe use that for the number "one" and put that where the banana is in the corner instead of the banana b/c you already have bananas on there. I'd use a bold sans serif font like helvetica, frutiger or univers (or arial if you're on a pc and don't have such fonts).

Maybe bump up the rectangle image of the safari stuff so it takes up a bit more space (1/8 inch away from the sides of the page).  I think the dark blue background is working. If you change it to a light blue it will mess up the hierarchy b/c you have the light blue as the text and as the background in the safari image  you want the background to be in the background.

I really like the first one. It looks more professional. I don't think you need to worry about people being confused to what it is, because when they open it they will see the date and time and all that. They will know it is an invitation. The second one looks a little cheap. And plain. Don't sacrifice fun because people might not get it. They will. People are smarter than we all give them credit for.
