Hello all! I just wanted to share my cute sock monkey ^^ He's going to Craft Hope, Project 4 (http://crafthope.com/?p=285). All the sock monkeys collected before 09.18.09 will be going off to Californian children who have been victims of severe burns in the recent wild fires. Please help them!

Anyway, here he is. =) I want to name him Roger, but I'm not going to because I know the name won't stick when he goes to his new home in CA. =)

full body. he's made of those awesome fuzzy socks at the dollar store!

side view, mostly for the tail. =)

glamor shot! I used fabric instead of buttons for the eyes because he's going to children. =)

Yay! I'm proud of him. comments and critique are loved.

Very cute. I've made lots of plushies and dolls and I finally made my first pair of sock monkeys last week. It's very addictive! I am now thinking where can I get some fun, inexpensive socks. ( I think I paid $6.99 for a three-pack of knee-highs at Target.) I wonder if there has ever been a fun sock monkey swap?

This is a really cute monkey and a very good cause.  Maybe you should put up a post in the crafting for good and not evil section of craftster.  Others might join the fight for you.

Gigglygirl, you might want to make a suggestion in the organized swap ideas section.

Great job on the monkey.

Your sock monkey looks great!  I checked out the craft hope site, and decided to get in the action myself Smiley  Thanks for sharing!  This seems like a great opportunity to help out people with my skills, and minimal money.  Grin

Thanks!

gigglygirl: I saw a 5 pack for $5 at walmart yesterday, but I got this pair at the dollar store because I only needed one pair.  Smiley Also, I would totally join a sock monkey swap.  Cheesy

pinokeeo: That's a good idea, I might do that  Wink Thanks

Decaf: I'm so glad you decided to help! Thank you!

Cuttie, I have not been able to get an address of where to send the sock monkeys. Do you have it?

I love that he's made out of the fuzzy socks!  So soft and huggable... good choice  Grin  What a great cause, too, I'm sure he'll be very loved.

magicfan: I do, but the project head doesn't want it posted all over the internet, since it's her home address. What you can do is send her an email at cmdolley@pacbell.net and just say you want to send a sock monkey and you need the address.  Smiley

Paleona: Thanks! the choice really came because it was the cutest pair of non-ankle-length sock at the dollar store. Grin

That's where I get my socks too!  I love the different patterns they have.
