so i haven't posted on craftster for over a year. but i just moved into a new house that i'll be in for an extended period of time (first time in 5 years!) and so i decided to really put some effort into decoration.

i got my first set of furniture that wasn't hand-me-down (ikea!). also, i saw the most amazing tree wall decals on ebay, but wasn't feeling the $80 price tag. so i bought some black contact paper and made my own! this is what i came up with:

this looks really great! i LOVE the trees. i've never worked with contact paper, once you stick it  its pretty much on there for good, right? and did you make it in sections and peice it together?

I love this. It's very simple, a lot of clean lines but elegant too.

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful!  I'm curious - how did you cut all this out?  I'm guessing Xacto knife, but whatever you did, it's amazing.

I just sort of winged it with the contact paper and the trees- I cut out long strips with a standard pair of scissors to make trunks (didn't draw it out first), stuck them to the wall, moved them around as I saw fit (it isn't permanent) and cut out thinner pieces for branches and twigs.

Thanks for all the compliments!
