So here is what I have been up too the last two weeks...

First up are the felted vessels. I saw the felt along and thought, hey I bet I can do that! So I did and here is what I got

The two on the right are made from wool I hand dyed with cool aid and food coloring. The one on the left and the bright one I gave to my birth mom and sister for Birthday gifts.

These are the ones I kept for me. You can see the big one is not that thick (the light shines through)

I really like this one. Those are dyed locks felted into it

Next is a Seaweed scarf, I saw the other one one this bored and I had to try it for myself. I hit a snag though: I decided to add in bits of yak (the white) and yak is super soft and kind of hard to felt. I'm still pretty proud of the end result but next time I might skip the yak.

Now this is suppose to be a necklace that wraps around like a scarf. Its still wet so I cant model it right now. I got the idea from a felt exhibit at a museum I saw over the weekend. The artist used pieces of coral but I used little glass pebbles. I covered them with blue felt and then felted around them. Ill post a better picture when it drys.

So that's what I have been up to. I have also been spinning but that will be posted in the spinning thread. Comments are always welcome.  Grin

I really like your vessels - especially the big one in the first pic with the balloon still in it.  This is something I really want to try soon!

I like your seaweed scarf too - what does the yak fleece feel like?

Yak is amazing soft. I bought a little cause its really expensive and I just wanted to see what it felt like. It felts really easily and looks cool.

Those vessels are lovely, and i especially like the thin one.
The way it lets in the light is beautiful.

I've been wanting to include glass in my work for a while now.
How did you find it?
Did it slip about?
