SMMARRT- In such a busy time in my life, just started college, you just had to start a swap I can't say no too! Wink Thats ok, I love me some dotees! But really I'm going to think about it, see how long my other swaps will take and then I'll sign up. I already have one swap that will probably be a but though to get though!! But most likely you will see me in this swap!! Thanks so much for organizing again!!

Well, I was going to wait for a week or so until I was a little further along on my pop-up ATCs, but then I realized that partners won't be assigned until sign ups are over anyway so it probably doesn't really make any difference (just a little psychologically stressful, I guess  Smiley). I too will try to make my dotees a more correct size this round ( I'll try to be more imaginative too, but don't hold me to that  Grin)!!

Craftymama06, if you can't find face molds you can make your own (thats what I did) just get a blob of sculpy, squish it on a doll's face (dust face first with cornstarch) pull it off, "bake" it. Before you use it, dust it with cornstarch then press sculpy or paperclay into it.
You may still have to do some trimming, sanding around the edges, but it's still easier than making a face completely from scratch.

I'm in again... go figure... It's an addiction!!

For people worried about making things for three partners- don't be. These little beauties are pretty quick to craft. I can typically make one an evening (not counting drying time). And because they're so small and typically light, you can ship them in a padded envelope- so it's a really inexpensive swap. Plus- because of the size you can always make them out of scraps and bits from your stash. I don't think I've ever actually had to go out and buy anything for a Dotee swap. I have so many neat bits of fabric and this is the best swap for using them up and making something fun with them!!

Okay- there's my ploy to get more people to join us. Come on- it's fun... you'll like it... I promise...  Roll Eyes

I've decided that i need to give in and join this swap Smiley

just a quick question - how specific doe everyone go on their likes and dislikes???

I've got the eeby geeby's!

You don't have to be too specific.  I usually try to make something according to my partners likes, however sometimes you find that you are unable to come up with a suitable design.  Then you can usually go along with their style.  Some people like weird, far-out stuff: others do not.  Some people like frills; some do not.  I notice that Smmarrt simplified the questionaire this time around.
