Can you dye Firestar? I just saw some Firestar on Etsy and the seller said it was hand dyed. Has anyone ever tried this and if so what dye do you use?

I'm fairly certain it's made of nylon therefore it can be dyed the same as wool or silk...with acid dyes!

Yes, is firestar just a fancy name for nylon?   I just dyed a bunch of nylon last night and it turned out beautifully!  Plus it doesn't felt (er... I didn't felt it at least, and I am pretty rough on my fiber), so it's pretty fool proof.   It was kind of hard to keep it together in roving form in the water, cuz it's so floaty, but it dyed very even.  I used both acid dyes and kool-aid
