I made two purses for my partner in the recent Star Trek swap, and am rather pleased with how they turned out, so I figured I'd post them here.

The one I started first and finished last is shaped like the Star Trek logo/communicator.  It was a bit of a challenge, since I've never made anything quite like it before.  The silver vinyl was remarkably easy to work with, though I need to tack it down better next time before I sew it.

Action Shot:

The other bag is a square-bottomed messenger bag, pretty strightforward.  It's a little bigger than the other messenger-style bags I've been making lately, and I put lots of pockets on this one - there's a big flat pocket on the back of the bag, a nice deep zipper pocket inside, and a panel of flat pockets inside.  I really kind of love this bag and may have to make one for myself.  The lining fabric is so pretty, and the pocket lining fabric goes with it so nicely.  ^_^

Front (I really should have ironed it before I took photos.. oh well.):

Interior zipper pocket:

Full of stuff:

No action shot for that one, they all turned out really bad..  Anyway, comments/criticisms welcome, as always.

These are amazing!  I'm wisting both of them.  I really like the messenger bag.

Cheesy Oh yeah! So fun! I am especially enamored with the communicator bag, but they are both excellent! They rock!

I am stupid in love with the communicator bag. As many Craftsters say, "It looks professional!" That silver vinyl could not be more perfect; a great combo of the right color with the right amount of kitsch!

Holy crap! Those are both so awesome! I gotta say, I don't like most purses usually(I don't like how small they are normally XD) but yours has me hooked<3 It's so shineygorgeous. And the messenger bag is simply squee-inducing!
Your swap partner is so lucky!
I must get in on this swap stuff...

Excellent job! Oh, and the planet fabric is a beautiful touch.

... and I love the pockets. You have my undying applause for the pockets.
