I finally figured out how to create a complex repeating pattern, and I just had to try it. It was a little tricky, but now that I have the hang of it, I definitely want to try again. I'm going to make a tutorial as soon as I can, and I'll be sure to post when I do.

Without further ado, Ghostly Paisley...

I made it to print on fabric at Spoonflower, but I just couldn't wait that long to post it.

Some details:

Thank you! I almost made the tutorial this afternoon, but I realized there was a fatal flaw that caused much pulling-out-of-hair for me, and I didn't want anyone else subjected to that. As soon as I fix that step, I'll share.

I originally made this for Spoonflower's Halloween fabric design contest (although I'm not sure how Halloweeny it is, even though it is made of ghosts), but now I just really want a corset of this material, and since I've been meaning to make myself a corset for a while now, I think the time has come.

P.S.: To those not familiar with Spoonflower, they are really great! (And, no, I'm not on their payroll, despite the fact that I've just made three posts lauding their awesomeness. They really are just that great.  Wink )

Thanks, all!

Basically, the fatal flaw was that the tiles didn't match up, so two or three of the ghosties had a line running through their faces. It took me a while to figure out what I'd done wrong, and luckily I only had to redo a little bit of it.

I'll definitely work on the tutorial for everyone, though. It's a digital version of a paper method I saw on the Spoonflower blog, but I can't seem to find the link at the moment. I'll be sure to share both when I put up the tute, though.
