Jalie 2568 ~ Brazilian Hipster Panties

I have to admit at first I thought it was silly... making your own underwear?  Then I found the Jalie 2568 pattern that includes among other things a pattern for lace 'Brazilian Hipster' panties as they call them.  It looked very similar to a pair of VS ones that I have that retail for some $16+ a PAIR.  Anyways $2.18 on 1 1/4 yards of 6" stretch lace and a scrap of black knit and here we go!



These only took me about 5 minutes to make including the cutting?  I have white, black & red lace and plan on making myself a bunch more!  They are definitely a 'cheeky' fit as in they aren't covered much, but are super cute & comfy.

This afternoon I decided the one pair look lonely, so I made 5 more to go with it!  I spent 45 minutes total making the 5 pairs.  I did have to modify the pattern a little because my white lace was 5.75" & my red 5.5" not the 6" that it needs.  Anyways it worked out great!  I managed to use up half of the 15 yards of stretch lace that I bought (bought that much to get free shipping).  Not to bad!

Wow, those are great, I love that style of panties.  Would you mind sharing where you purchased your pattern and fabric?  I have not heard of Jalie patterns (I don't get out much)
Have you made any of the other styles of panties in the pattern?

quick question: where did you find the wide stretch lace?  I can't locate any around here.

I got the pattern direct from www.jalie.com, I really like their patterns, they are cute & fit well... so I ordered 3 & got a 4th free.  I haven't made any of the other styles, but I have been happy with pretty much every Jalie pattern I have made.

Those are really cute. I've always had issues finding underwear that both fit well and look cute so I've been making my own for a while now It's a great way to use up scraps and get the exact item you want without spending much money.
