Ok so I took this challenge and offered the creativity to the 9 year old that I watch. She and I roamed the aisles of the 99 Cent Store until she found a golf game. We then found a cool bamboo basket, a wooden plate rack, some chips to snack on, some green grip liner and various candle holders. At the last pass, she grabbed a bag of small river rocks. Our grand total came out to $9.30.

I took the sides of the basket apart to create a bridge. We used some fleece scraps to create a "water feature" under the bridge and at the back of the "green". She also used the larger golf clubs as decoration for the entrance to her course. She also found a couple little things around the house to decorate with (little pottery thingys I got in AZ, some aluminum foil for an arch, etc). Unfortunatley for her, I am not the photographer in the family so please forgive the next photo (had to have DH photoshop the clutter from the background). She turned it into a game with actual scores and rules and the kids have already been playing with it for the last week Smiley

Thanks for looking!

I'm an art teacher and I was really inspired by this project. I work with 8 - 11 year olds and they are such a great age to do projects with because they have good skills and still are very imaginative.

I didn't see your post to me until I finished my reply to your project -- I think we were writing at the same time -- cool. (And I'm a big fan of mini golf.)

I think it's great you involved a child in this, and that they are actually using it. Great Job!
