Hoooooo Knows What Time It Is?

Materials:

Plastic Owl Plate
Disassembled clock (It works!)
Flower and heart erasers
Plastic balls from hair ties

I was lucky to find this adorable and not very useful owl plate at our local small and dingy dollar store (so much more fun than the large clean ones). So I was looking for a way to increase the usefulness factor, as well as the cuteness factor so I drilled a hole in the plate, added the clock works & some cute stuff. (All supplies from the dollar store.)

Dollar Stores are not just great for crafting. We have the "Dollar Store Christmas" challenge in my family (inspired by Jay Leno). Why spend lots of money on gifts that are fun to open but not really useful? Why not go to the dollar store and spend very little money on gifts that are extremely silly, inappropriate and have very funny descriptions on the packaging? We exchange dollar store gifts every year and laugh so much that our cocoa comes out our noses -- and are able to give the money we would have spent to a good cause.

so cute! my family actually does the opposite and buys expensive gag gifts that no one knows what to do with after christmas. i should convince them that the dollar store way is the way to go. (that way i can maybe avoid receiving anymore hot pink electric guitars in brands no one's ever heard of...)
