Yeah, I know a corset has been done in a previous dollar store challenge, but it wasn't underbust! And it (as well as the placemat corset this round, which IS fabulous!!) didn't have over 260 rose petals sewn to it one by one! This is my first challenge, and hopefully y'all think I deserve some beginner's luck!

All hail my sister, the lovely model! She's a little small for the corset, but I'll take it in for her.

And the in progress pics - from one petal to 100 to 264!!

I stitched these all individually with a machine. I bought two t-shirts, one roll of tulle, one package of rose petals, and three longstem wire flowers. Petals were used as loops instead of grommets. I removed the flowers and used the stems for boning. The tulle is the lace up the back. The first t-shirt was the base onto which the petals were sown and the second for lining. I can post a tutorial later, if you guys like - right now, time for work! <3

Nah, just a lot of time. I had bought ten bucks worth of stuff - but decided the headpiece looked bad. I had some tissue paper and plastic dove beads and junk I had made into a sort of geisha hair ornament. I could fix it and post it later, but I figure the corset is impressive enough. I mean, not even a couture designer would consider covering a garment in rose petals!! I got up to the first 100 petals from August 17th, then virtually stopped until today. Everything after the third picture was done today. I hardly moved from my sewing machine, and the foot kept popping off and I couldn't fix it and it was soooo frustrating! But I'm very pleased. I'm so glad you like it! Thanks for being my first comment!!

Oh wow! I love how you had a purpose for the stems of the flowers...I hate throwing them away but I never seem to have a use for the silly things! Great job!

Thank you so much!  They're surprisingly sturdy, too, I couldn't believe it. I put it on another sister of mine and it sucked her waist in FIVE INCHES!!

Thanks so much! Even if I don't win, I'm happy. My sister wants to wear it to school tomorrow. XD

I'd love to see the back - you mention petals as loops? I'd love to see that. It's impressive!

Thanks so much to the eight other people who voted for me! I'll probably post a tutorial later, when I have time to type it up. <3
