After many hours and many curses, I finally managed to finish this little dress with matching bloomers. It looks better on the photos than in real life, as the photos don't quite convey how much more practice I need to get my seams straight. Also, the skull already started coming off in the first wash, I guess I need to sew it on and not just rely on the iron.

I used a simplicity pattern, but completely forgot which one.

C&C welcome.

Looks great for a first time thing! And with the style you made it (because of the fabric and skull) messy seams would probably suit it! And the little one is so cute

Thank you. She is rather cute indeed, but she doesn't leave me much time to practice my sewing (non)skills.

It's pretty!

I like how you used black, most of the time it's a no-no in baby outfits, I dont know why.  Huh

I used to be strictly a yarn girl but now I'm teaching myself to sew.  Help! Smiley

That's a really cute dress (so is the baby Smiley ). I like the fabric and trim choice and I think the applique looks nice with it. I've never had an iron-on patch stay on through more than one or two washings either.

Edited to add: It's also refreshing to see a nice baby girl outfit that's not all about the pink Smiley.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

That's adorable! I love it! Did you use a pattern, or draft it yourself?
