I have some button up shirts that I would like to re-style. Does any one have any suggestions or maybe a tute?
I am a beginner sewer so I am looking for something fairly easy.
Thanks for any suggestions.

One possibility is to add some lace details.  You can apply it and leave it as is, or after securing it with a small zig zag you can cut out the fabric underneath.

If the shirt is straight at the waist, you can define it by gathering it at the back, with pretty looking pleats, a little shirring or a strip of fabric and a couple of decorative buttons, for example.

There are quite a few people who have done interesting men's shirt refashions. Go to this board:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=8.0

Look through the last 4 or 5 pages and you should find all the ones I'm thinking of. There's the bustled shirt, the pin-up shirt-dress, there's the ruffle-busted shirt-dress, etc.
