Here's the completed lampshade with the light on...

now for the story...
I'd told my sister that I'd make her a lamp for her room. The theme for her room is white and pink with a Japanese boudoir theme. So when I saw this challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I started out with plastic cutting mats ($5), tin foil ($2), white and silver glitter ($3) and 3 sprays of silver leaves ($6). So spent a total of $15 new zealand on the lamp. So under $10 US!

I cut out many, many flower shapes out of the cutting mats. Then I cut out slightly smaller shapes out of the tin foil. I ended up with: 18 flowers with foil flowers on them, 15 flowers with white glitter, 12 flowers with silver glitter and 60 clear flowers.
I used the bases of the sprays of silver leaves to make two circular rings to form the base of the lamp.
Then I made several streams of flowers and stuck them on the top ring so that they fell on below the next ring (which is wider).
So this is what I ended up with!

I was fairly happy with it and as you can see from this photo, so was the sister!!

oh and one more, just coz it is pretty.

comments most appreciated. xx
