I've recently discovered that I LOVE making underwear. It's such a perfect way to use up scraps or cute fabrics I wouldn't want to make an actual garment out of. I use a slightly modified bikini pattern from a Kwik Sew book, Swim and Action Wear by Kerstin Martensson.

I love this RCMP fabric. I feel like they're saluting my bum. Which is great when you're reluctant to get out of bed and dressed in the morning.

Simple lace-bordered undies based on a pair I bought ages ago at La Senza, and are the comfiest thing ever.

Ok, these rule. I guess these should *technically* be in the recon section, but I'd rather post everything at once.

AWESOME. Made from an old t-shirt

These are the first pair I made...they're not that good, but they were just to see what works/what doesn't etc. They are very comfortable, though. So not a loss at all.

These are just some store bought underwear that I appliqued. Because we all have enough boring underwear.

Thank you for looking! Questions and comments welcome.

I love these.  The Mountie fabric is so hilariously cute.  The lace-topped pair looks particularly professional.  How did you finish the leg holes - lingerie stitch?  Did you use elastic?

These are so cute!  I really want to learn how to make undies.  Did you use a lingerie stitch or elastic?  Do you have any pointers for beginners?  Inquiring minds want to know!  Wink

It seems so thrifty! and they're all so much radder than they are in stores!
Plus I have enough fabric scraps to sink a battleship...

My underwear are back! Haha. It's so exciting to see your own thread bumped back to the front page.

I do use lingerie elastic, I have found Len's Mill Store carries an excellent supply. I would imagine there are a lot of places you could get it online. My main tip is to just KEEP TRYING. They're not hard to make but getting that *just right* fit can be a pain! I always find myself taking them in. And in. And in.

I would say undies are a great way to get started working with stretch fabrics because no one will see all of your mistakes! Unless you want them to:P
