Signups through the end of the month

The second round is officially finished. Seraphina_de_Sangre and Raeraethejetplane did an awesome job on round 2. As this was my idea, and I am 'eligible' I would like to start this discussion to see who may be interested in another round.

Here is a link to the discussion of the last round
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=314408.0

The basic premise is a one week sign up period, then about 8 or 9 days to stalk and fill an envelope and send to your partner.

Because this is US only, you have to keep your weight under 1 oz, the envelope needs to be machinable, and we do not require DC numbers. But if yours gets lost, you will agree to send another envelope.

The idea is LOW STRESS, so you could send supplies, craft something small, and decorate your envelope if you are so inclined.

I did notice a lot of people in the last round missed the 1 oz limit or arrived postage due to not being machinable, so we only ask that you try to abide by the original idea, of low stress and HAVE FUN.

I fully believe that craftsters in other countries could do a similar letter swap in their country.

Let the discussion begin, when is a good time, do you want the option of 2 partners, etc.

thanks, lovesclutter

To ensure a quality envelope I'm going to need to wait two or three weeks for another round.

Oh, we have response. LOL It will take me awhile to figure out the organizing part anyway. I think signups last week of September or first week in October?

Early October could mean that I might be able to join in again! I'll have to start accumulating items now...

Maybe a bit about things you're not interested in or would rather avoid?

And, that sounds like a good timeline to me! Yay!

That is a good idea, as I am not into a lot of stuff, but also want to make it easier for my partner.

The idea about including a question about things you don't care for" is a brilliant one!  It's often easier to tell someone what you don't like, vs. what you like Cheesy  I'm in for round 3...whenever you start signups Smiley

great loves2experiment, because this wouldn't have gotten off the ground without you. I am going to keep bumping because we all need a cheap swap. Cool

Maybe you should add a new post with a picture so it shows up in "Recent with Pictures." I try to avoid the swap boards because I want to join too many, but when I see them in "Recent with Pictures" it always sucks me in... At least it would make more people aware of the upcoming swap Wink

craftADDchick, I put an image I used to print the back of the envelopes on there, but I don't think that it is recent enough, and I don't want to start another post until I am actually posting in the active swaps.

Of course, if I start now and let the signups go through the end of the month, we could have a lot of swappers. I definitely need a co organizer, as I haven't done this, though I am sure I can. I have only one organized swap item to make, and one personal to make, so I'm good.

If I didn't just have a drastic job change (which I am woefully unprepared for!), I would offer to co-organize. As it is, I sort of committed to organizing another swap and may have to bail on that one.

I'm In! I'm going to start planning things now too... I was really hoping to get in an easy cheap swap right away, since my first one just posted feedback, but It will give me time to make a few things ahead. Unless I get an easy quick swap going right away, I won't be able to help organize, but I'll check and see if there's one I can join that I can do right away so I can get my 2 swaps in.

Thanks! And I would have kept the old one if I could have- but it got "redefined" and then a series of events happened that led to me shifting (suddenly) to a new one. As soon as they figure out what the job description for my old job is, it'll be posted... You might have a very long commute, however!

I think I'm onto a brilliant idea for those inchies you sent me, Lovesclutter.
It has to do with those cut-out paint chips I was just trimming down tonight! Maybe it's a great 44cent swap idea?

Well, since I was in on the first two rounds of the 44 Cent Swap, I'd better be in on Round 3.   Wink

It's a fun swap, fast, easy and cheap.

What a minute...!?!?! ....I think I just described myself: "Fun, Fast, Easy and Cheap!"  LOL!

Hey!  I DO resemble that remark!   Grin

Anyhoo, yup, count me in for the 3rd round in Oct!

Too funny. Yep, I guess I resemble that remark too.

I'm thinking about starting signups to last the whole month. I wonder if we can top any records?

Still shopping for a co-organizer.

I was not familiar with this swap and I love the idea! I was amazed at what you can get in one envelope. Count me in- I have a few ideas of what to send already.

welcome to thrify(cheap) swapping varifiresis. These are much easier, for me anyway. I go for quality over quantity, and I have a scale. lmao

I've been reading the new swaps lately, and they've gotten so complicated, and EXPENSIVE! To think people have really nothing else to do, but make Tons of items, and the number of packages required! I felt like I'd have to build a graph chart just to figure out the rules! I'm not even trying to be funny.... I'm SERIOUS!
So, Saying all that to say this>>>> I'M IN!!!!
And I'm going to start a little box to put things in for it, so when the time comes, I'll have lot's of ideas. I wouldn't even mind if it was 2 stamps! It sounds a lot more do-able than multiple packages to several people!

This would be the PERFECT thing. I like making large items, but there is so much room for error, and this is simple, your partner may like crafted items, supplies, or both and it just has to be lightweight and maleable. I think I am going to have a long signup period.

I will approve the first 24, and when/if I get a co-organizer, I will approve more. Sign up till end of Sept and send by 10/10/09 (a Saturday).
