i totally follow. it sounds awesome. the hardest part is probably figuring out the mailing, though it shouldnt be too bad. just kind of a shift down list thing maybe

The mailing shouldn't be too tricky.  It should work like the Charm Swap did, if I follow LiquidScissors.  All participants would have the same picture and the same size, each person would complete the pic in whatever medium she likes, then cut the picture into, say, a 3x3 grid (9 participants).   Then you'd keep one piece, and mail the other 8, one to each of the other participants.  Everyone ends up with 9 pieces, one from each person, to re-assemble the picture.  Right?  You'd just have to give everyone's address to everyone, and the postage should be very cheap if you keep the picture small.

right, or at least thats how i understood it too, but the hard part would be making sure everyone has one of each piece, and not three upper left corners or something.

Well heres an idea as far as sending everything.  AND I KNOW its very frowned upon and would take a lot of everyones trust in me.. But I think it would be easy if everyone sent their peices to me, then I would arrange them into 9 pictures and send them out to each person.  This way you would only have to mail one small envelope and there wouldnt be any mix ups or people getting wrong peices.  Just an idea.

I think I would start the sign ups soon, and keep it open till we have 9 participants and then have it due in may.

I like to think of myself as a very loyal and honost person, so if everyone trusted me enough I think I would like to do it this way, where everyone sends to me and I send out to everyone.  But I understand if people would not want to do this.
