So several months ago dreamsinsanity contacted me and asked if I'd be willing to make her a poppet in trade for crocheted goodies.
I thought about it for a bit then said yes. She turned out to be one of my favorites I've made. Definitely top 3. Smiley
Dreamsinsanity insisted that I only make the doll and one peice of clothing since she knew they take awhile. and told me she was going to spoil me in return! Which she totally did!
So here's her poppet named Lydia. She has red hair and green eyes as was requested:

She's made with faux poppet skin from the 1.50 rack at wal*mart. And her hair is carron simply soft. Her dress was made from scratch as I went. I'll be honest I wasn't thrilled with it but I'd ripped it out like 3 times and started over so I finally gave up and just went with it. It ties with ribbon (the gray strip at the top) and it has a halter neckline too.
You can see pictures that dreamsisanity took of her here:

I LOVE that fabric.  I look on the Wal-Mart rack everytime I go, but never see anything like this!  Does it say what exactly it is?  I did find some "robe" fabric that I'm gonna try, but it was like $2.50 (maybe), and didn't look as good as yours!  She is awesome!

No it didn't "unknown materials" but if you go over and feel the alova suedes (which should be out now as it's getting to be fall) and then feel the fabric it feels and is a bit thinner and a bit less fuzzy. Like the fuzz density was lower or something. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.
They had it in all different colors. dark and light blue, Lydia's grayish color, and green I think. they randomly will put more out so I know I've seen pink and red too. Pink was most recent I think.
Robe fabric is totally use able though! It's actually one recommended as a substitute for alova suede!

Oooh yay I'm glad you made a topic! You deserve to show her off. Smiley
Lydia is enjoying her life here in California (though I'm not so sure she enjoys helping me with all my college homework Wink)
I plan on making her another outfit soon as soon as I can find/make a pattern.
Whenever I get around to that I'll surely post pictures.
