I was wondering if anyone might be interested in doing a sock doll swap?  What are your thoughts on this theme?

I love this idea! I won't be able to do it until after the earrings swap I'm joining. I'm getting this book from the library: http://www.amazon.com/Sock-Glove-Creating-Charming-Cast-Off/dp/1557885168/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1252006903&sr=8-1

I would love to do this. I made my first sock doll earlier this year, for the Huh swap ( I can't remember - it went to kevsbabe) and it was fun. I have been buying cool, weird, unusual socks over the last few weeks to make more. And I have accumulated many books about sock and glove dolls.

So count me in, Rose!

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to organize this.  I'm hoping someone will come forward to handle it.  I'm not computer savvy.  But I thought this would be an interesting theme.  I recently saw a cat doll someone made from a sock and thought it was cute, that's how I came up with the idea.  I hope this garners some interest.  It might pick up some speed after labor day when things settle down from vacations and the beginning of school.

I just glanced through the book you mentioned Dizzer.  That pupply sure is cute.  If this takes off the gorund I will go to the library and see what they have on this topic.  I once made a little doll from a stretchy glove and with the colder months coming they might be more readily available in stores.

I have several sock animal/doll books and have yet to make a single one!  I want to organize making some for a children's hospital for this winter... in conjunction with lap quilt collection for the same place.  I thought it would be fun to send the kids some sock critters.  This could actually get me motivated to make some!

I'm surprised this hasn't garnered that much interest yet.  Perhaps now that Labor Day is behind us and the little ones are back in school, the big ones can start crafting more. I would think that some of the people in the prior Make Me A Doll swaps might be interested in this one.  Come on folks.

And I could possibly organize this one, maybe with a super co-organizer and if I promise myself not to do 5 swaps at one time....I'm still very interested.

I really like the idea of this.  It wouldn't have to be a big swap, only 1 doll a/o animal.  That should interest some people who don't like big swaps.  This wouldn't be a biggie like the regular doll swaps and they are fun to make.

I definitely want to do this. I just got the book in and really want a reason to try this stuff out! I'm in my first swap, so I would have to wait until I'm done with this one before I could do multiple swaps, but I am interesting in joining this, especially if it's a small swap.
