So I'm hoping this is acceptable.  I had a pair of oriental style paper lamps.  The shades were attacked with several years of dog drool and not the most attractive (I kept them any how to recover and make something fabulous later from).  But the lamp guts were still good...  This was not my original idea, but I went with it anyways.  I used 6 clear plastic bowls and a pack of clear plastic party plates for the stem of the lamp and a pair of mixing bowls for the shades.

Here is the finished product.

These are the orignal lamps I used.

They had to be COMPLETELY disassembled wire's removed from everything, spray painted (I had a can from making on of  the awesome starburst mirrors), then had to thread the wire back thru everything.  My husband helped drill holes thru the bowls - a total pain in the arse - and I shortened the switch.  And wala!

One last pics with the light off.

Hope you like it!

Thank you all!  This is only my second post and my first challenge.  It was a lot of fun and I was surprised by how inspiring the dollar store can be!

they are upside down on the very bottom.  i used them to give the bowls a bit of a boost to fill in the gap between the top bowl and the ring that screws down to secure it all.  it was a 10 pack, but i only used 8 as 2 busted in the drilling process...  a very tedious process.
