UN-MUTUAL!

i hope i chose the right place to post! Smiley the lovely AlteredMommy accompanied me to IYP 13 and i decided to make her a sacred heart shrine. but then it actually turned into a la muerte (death) shrine. it is based on the mexican loteria card 14 "la muerte". the center is a needle felted wool base with fabric sacred heart sticker that i coloured silver with a sharpie. surrounding this is a quote "it is non-existence, the unlimited; it is the abscence of all, the perfect form, it is the ultimate mystery, the incomprehensible absolute" and ephemera reminding one of the absoluteness of death and how the young do not often comprehend this. the frame base has been collaged with spanish text, tissue paper, inks, gel pens and a skeleton stamp. the edges of the panels are strips of fabric sticker with black stripes i made with a sharpie. the outside has 2 pennies representing the toll for the ferryman of the underworld.

i also made her this "abandoned" chunky house

and a couple atcs

Nice shrine. I picked up a frame very similar that that at a thrift store, and it's just been sitting around waiting for love... thanks for motivating me to do something with it! Keep up the good work!
