I made this bag for the Giant Theme Swap.  Two of my partner's themes were Owls/birds and bicycles, so I decided to tie the two together.  I used some variegated chunky yarn I had lying around w/ size 8s I think.  It's lined w/ an inner zip pocket.  I haven't sewed in awhile so the lining is a bit sketchy.  Oh well.  I'll probably make myself one as stuff is always falling out of my pockets when I'm bicycling.  Hope you like it!

I think the lining is good! I love the stitching - that owl is so cute! I love the color contrast with that oatmeal color and the red!

Thanks everyone!  I don't have a pattern.  I just knitted a long rectangle (stockinette then moss stitch for the top edges)  w/ a button hole, folded it in half, and knit some straps w/ button holes.  I do have a chart for the owl I can post after work.

Without a pattern, it looks like I'll have to get a bike for the depth measurement of the bag. (Knowing me I would end up with a bag that is too long for the space between the handlebars and the fender/wheel.)
I am not griping - because knitting in chunky yarn means that rows can quickly be undone and redone.  Grin

Much praise to you for your ingenious positioning of the bag on the handlebars!

Thanks for showing us,
Jane2 (Janey elsewhere)
