So this is my first topic, first time showing off anything I've made on Craftster be kind  Embarrassed

I've only recently started to get interested in embroidery/hand stitching having been into knitting and crochet for a few years.

I copied a design in a craft magazine for a little kitty kat and decided to mess around. The outline is done using Perle/Pearl cotton and the inside colouring is done using 2 strands of floss. My stitches are urm, a variety of back stitch and other stitches that are long (I used a book to practice some of them, and now I've forgotten their names, d'oh!). I stitched them onto lemon cotton.

The cat:

The ghost:

The pumpkin:

and lastly, the witches hat (my favourite)

I then decided I'd cut the lil embroidery images out and sew them on to some fabric. I picked out some orange Gingham fabric (cos orange is Halloween-y, right?) and found some black drawstringy string. I began sewing the bits and pieces together using my Singer sewing machine, but the tension of the machine didn't agree with the fabric, so only some of the work is done by machine, about 75% is by hand! The stitching on the inside is probably the neatest I've ever sewn:

Side One of the flattened swag bag:

Side Two:

And the finished bag, all sewn up and filled with goodies - not candy, because I dont have any candy:

I didn't think the project as a whole would've taken me so long, but I'm happy enough with the finished work

This is dynamite!  I love the color and textures you got with the cotton thread...that kitty is strokeable!

Nice job!

Awesome project! I like your hat too. I like the rest of them, and that you sewed them on to a bag (I do that a lot myself). Keep it up Grin
