After I made Ali Fosters pleated shoulder bag for my friend (below) I had to make one for myself...or three. I'm obviously a little obsessed with this pattern. It's so easy! I had less than half of a yard of the flower fabric and I managed to squeak out the bag. Love that.

My good friend has been having some boy-issues lately. My remedy for man troubles has always been...new handbags!! I made this one for her tonight in hopes that it will help take her mind off the boy-issues for at least a minute or two Smiley.

I used the Ali Foster pleated shoulder bag pattern. I loved it! It was well written, includes actual pictures of every step and only required 1/2 yrd of exterior and interior fabric. I am going to make myself one tomorrow!

The bag and the sentiment are nice!  You friend is very lucky to have someone in their life that is so caring and thoughtful PLUS mad handbag-making skills!

That is a wonderful purse!  It's got a really neat shape and the fabrics go really well together.  What a thoughtful present.

Thanks! I made one for myself too and I love it!

The pattern is from Ali Foster. It's called "Pleated Shoulder Bag". I bought it on Etsy. She's having a 2 for $8 sale right now. I added fusible fleece to my bag instead of interfacing as the pattern calls for. Apart from that I didn't change a thing. I thought it was easy to make and came together quick.

I'm definitely going to make more Smiley.
