I was Blind Mag in Chicago's Repo! The Genetic Opera shadowcast for their first two shows, and instead of spending a ton of money on costumes, I decided to make mine. Natural decision, right? Since Mag's basically only got the three costumes, I had a fairly easy time of it. Sorry about having some links, the pictures were showing up sideways despite my turning them in photobucket. I'll try to figure out what's wrong, and fix them when I do.

Sanitarium Square, I didn't want to mess with the micropleats that were involved with recreating the Cavalli dress from the movie, so I used the opportunity to remake the dress Keira Knightly wears in Atonement. The reactions I got from castmates and audience both were worth two sleepless nights.

Chase the morning was where Mag met the god daughter she thought had died. I love this coat, it's so fantastically swishy! It was also my first adventure sewing vinyl. It wasn't so pleasant at the last show, though, since I was running a fever..

The hood, I can pull down over my face and snooze in backstage.

Chromaggia was my favorite costume to put together, because it meant I got to make a corset. I wasn't going to do an underbust with feathers like the movie, because I'm a little too busty for that, but I had more fun with this than I would have with feathers.

Oh I think that will look awesome and I can't wait to see photo's of it. Atonement is really slow, I enjoyed it but, no one else I made watch it liked it so just a friendly warning.

I can't tell you how psyched I am to see another Repo costume, and more fans! I love all the costuming in the movie, and love to see the stuff people are making to wear to shows. Really creative stuff.
And I REALLY love that coat!

All Repo fans seem to love my coat.. Toledo's Pavi claimed he wanted to steal it when a few of our cast went to see their first show. It's actually a not-very-modified at all version of a..I think it's a Butterick pattern? All I changed was adding the hood. I can find the pattern number if anyone is interested.

Acidtrix, I'm actually going to finish my Chromaggia outfit just for the blazes of it, and I'll eventually have a skirt out of the same kind of fringe only 15 inches long. Mag a la flapper!

Did you use a pattern for the corset?
